Whats New With Holmes
Fine Art
Holmes Fine Art originated in 1980 in San Jose, California, originally
as Holmes & Associates, a business comprised by founder Meryle
Karloff-Holmes, and other art professionals whose function was to
serve as art-media advisors and consultants to private and public
companies, developers, architects, designers, and individual collectors.
Ms. Karloff-Holmes created, organized, curated and marketed exhibitions
in public and private environments, collaborating with established
and recognized curators and non-profit organizations. In 1993, Ms.
Karloff-Holmes and her husband, Roy Holmes, who is a pioneer in
technology and broadcast media, together they established the Holmes
Fine Art Gallery as a retail business in downtown San Jose, initially
serving the people of San Jose, Santa Clara County and California.
Shortly after opening the gallery, they realized being in Silicon
Valley, the center of technology that their art gallery should reflect
their community. Hence creating Silicon Valley Institute of Art
& Technology, known as Art-Tech,
a 501c3 non-profit organization. They relocated Holmes Fine Art
to their ranch in San Joses east hills and Hollywood Hills,
while continuing with Art-Tech at their downtown location until
1999, when they decided to move Art-Tech to the hills
and through
the internet-the world
